Material Development

Desert Skins

Winter 2026

This material development explores Desserto’s red cactus leather as a sustainable vegan alternative. Through laser etching, laser cutting, and UV printing, the study evaluates the material’s strengths and limitations while exploring print development inspired by natural surface rubbings, such as armadillo skin and rock textures.

Heat Manipulations with Leather

Fall 2025

This collection explores heat-forming reclaimed leather as an alternative to stitched construction. Using fire, flame, and wood-burning tools, the material is shaped and controlled through heat alone. The process creates unique forms while emphasizing slow, sustainable making and pushing future possibilities for high-fashion material innovation.

Mermaid Purse: Stingray Eggcase

Fall 2024

This jacquard-woven piece is inspired by a stingray egg case, or "mermaid purse," that I found. I have always been drawn to their unique, organic shape, which is often unrecognizable and non-representational. In this work, I aim to capture that form using the structure of jacquard weaving, turning the natural object into a more abstract expression. Through this process, I explore the connection between natural forms and the technical precision of weaving.

Digital Imprint

Fall 2024

My work explores the intersection of technology and art through the process of digitally weaving jacquard. By using color as a primary visual element, I aim to express how digital tools and traditional craft can coexist and enhance one another. The intricate patterns woven through the loom reflect both the precision of technology and the fluidity of artistic expression, creating a dialogue between the two worlds
