Mermaid Purse: Stingray Eggcase
Fall 2024
This jacquard-woven piece is inspired by a stingray egg case, or "mermaid purse," that I found. I have always been drawn to their unique, organic shape, which is often unrecognizable and non-representational. In this work, I aim to capture that form using the structure of jacquard weaving, turning the natural object into a more abstract expression. Through this process, I explore the connection between natural forms and the technical precision of weaving.

Digital Imprint
Fall 2024
My work explores the intersection of technology and art through the process of digitally weaving jacquard. By using color as a primary visual element, I aim to express how digital tools and traditional craft can coexist and enhance one another. The intricate patterns woven through the loom reflect both the precision of technology and the fluidity of artistic expression, creating a dialogue between the two worlds

Magic Carpet
Fall 2024
I explored the intricate possibilities of fancy twills and shading satins using the Jacquard loom. This experience allowed me to experiment with complex patterns and colors.
Norwegian Tapestry
Fall 2023

In my tapestry, woven with six harnesses, I explore the tapestry of my Norwegian heritage. Drawing inspiration from traditional patterns demonstrates my pride for my Scandanavian background. The colors I used represent the Norwegian flag and create a visual narrative that honors my ancestry.
Round Robin
Fall 2023

I explore different woven structures in during this project and tested out different yarn and threads to see how each would affect the pattern.
